Reino Hietanen (b. 1932) has influenced the Finnish art world since the 50s. He is also one of the old-timers in the Art Centre Salmela’s exhibitions. Hietanen has produced a considerable amount of artwork specifically for Salmela’s graphics collection. He often starts out with a nature motif, unassumingly, trailing the dividing line between representationalism and abstractism. His pots, arrangements, plants and tables are both familiar and loved subjects.
