Lars-Gunnar Nordström (b. 1924) is one of Finland’s most well-known constructivists. While analysing his own works, Nordström specifies three basic elements: shape, stroke and colour. He structures his compositions also through appointing counter pairs, contemplating the relations between the elements. According to him, the contradictory characteristics of the elements manifest themselves in f. ex. negative/positive, static/dynamic and open/closed -axes.
